The Connecticut Art Gallery is the creation of Connecticut Real Estate Broker, Steve Schappert.  Mr. Schappert is also an abstract artist that can pivot with the best of them, and now leads a group of 365 Connecticut Artists.  Currently, there are 42 artists that display art at the galleries, and 88 artists that have created accounts on the website.  “This is just the beginning, we anticipate opening many more locations and increase our art on display to over 6000 pieces this year.  Our secret is that we bring art to the people. We open galleries in wineries, breweries, and restaurants as well as the Connecticut Real Estate Brokerage in Thomaston.”, said Mr. Schappert.  Schappert intends to expand the gallery locations to include hospitals, elderly housing facilities, and shared office space.

The Connecticut Art Gallery is a community of local, Connecticut artists. We welcome contemporary artists that apply their skills in all genres of fine art that would like to increase sales. All different career levels are welcome, from new “Emerging Talents” to the more experienced artists that paint, sculpt, create jewelry and photography with established resumes. We do this by providing cost-effective brick-and-mortar as well as an online venue to display and purchase original works of art.  The Art Gallery’s Mission is to create a fun experience by combining food, drink, art & music whenever possible.

The Connecticut Art Gallery’s main location is 157 East Main Street in Thomaston, CT. The Connecticut Art Gallery has 6 locations throughout the state with over 1700 works on exhibit.    The Thomaston location features over 400 works of art and jewelry on display. In Suffield, the gallery is located inside Broad Brook Brewing. In Ellington, the gallery features about 100 pieces at Nordic Moon Meadery.  The Bergen House Meadery in Middletown features over 100 works and will be expanding to more than double that.   The gallery has co-marketing agreements with existing galleries as well. In Enfield, Ryan Larsen owns Jazzmen Music & Art, and in Roxbury Sterett Gittings Kelsey owns the Sculpture garden.    There is now a verbal agreement for the gallery to manage the hallways and common areas of a 140,000+ sf shared office building.  This move could make The Connecticut Art Gallery the largest art gallery in the state.

A focus for 2021 is the creation of the Connecticut Children’s Art Gallery.  “Our first official entry, Jovi Greene is 8 years old, she brought 10 family members when she hung her first 10 works in our Thomaston gallery. We want to encourage young artists and help drive traffic to our partner’s businesses.  Wouldn’t you frequent a restaurant that featured your child’s art, would you bring friends and family?”, said Mr. Schappert.

The Connecticut Art Gallery is part of a unique real estate concept that combines homes, shared office space, café, art gallery, and a health facility. Connecticut Real Estate is combining residential and commercial sales with property management services to create a prototype model that will be replicated around the world.
