Position Overview:

The Chief Real Estate Officer (CREO) of Connecticut Real Estate is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing all real estate transactions, property management, and development projects. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Real Estate Transactions:
    • Oversee all real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leases, and investments.
    • Develop and implement strategies to identify and acquire high-potential properties that align with the company’s growth objectives.
    • Negotiate terms and conditions of real estate deals to ensure favorable outcomes for the company.
  2. Property Management:
    • Manage the company’s real estate portfolio, ensuring properties are maintained, leased, and operated efficiently.
    • Develop and implement property management policies and procedures to enhance operational performance and tenant satisfaction.
    • Oversee property maintenance, repairs, and renovations, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  3. Development Projects:
    • Lead the planning and execution of real estate development projects from concept to completion.
    • Oversee site selection, feasibility studies, design, permitting, and construction management.
    • Ensure development projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  4. Market Analysis and Strategy:
    • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive insights.
    • Develop and implement real estate strategies that maximize the value of the company’s portfolio and align with market conditions.
    • Monitor and adjust strategies based on market dynamics and business goals.
  5. Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage real estate budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
    • Analyze financial performance of properties and development projects, identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
    • Work closely with the CFO to develop financial models, forecasts, and investment analyses.
  6. Stakeholder Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, developers, brokers, and regulatory authorities.
    • Communicate effectively with the CEO, executive team, and board of directors on real estate activities and performance.
    • Engage with community leaders and government officials to support development projects and company initiatives.
  7. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Build and lead a high-performing real estate team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Provide mentorship, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the real estate team.
    • Set clear performance goals and expectations for the team, and hold them accountable for achieving targets.
  8. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure all real estate activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to minimize risk and protect the company’s interests.
    • Stay informed on regulatory changes and industry standards, ensuring the company’s practices remain current and compliant.
  9. Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility:
    • Promote sustainable real estate practices and incorporate green building standards into development projects.
    • Ensure properties and development projects minimize environmental impact and enhance community well-being.
    • Implement energy-efficient and environmentally friendly solutions in property management and development.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a CREO or in a senior real estate leadership role, preferably within the real estate, construction, or development sectors.
  • Strong understanding of real estate transactions, property management, and development processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful real estate strategies and projects.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing real estate teams.
  • Strong analytical and financial management skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
