The town of Salisbury is a part of Litchfield County and is located in the northwest corner of Connecticut. The town is a conglomeration of the villages of Lakeville and Salisbury and the hamlets of Taconic, Amesville and Lime Rock.
Incorporated in the year 1741, the town has various historic homes and structures. Salisbury was an iron ore hub in the early days fulfilling most of the iron ore requirements of Connecticut. This industry became inactive after the First World War. At present, Salisbury is mainly a fishing town with the Housatonic River flowing nearby and multiple ponds and lakes located throughout the town. This place is a nature lover’s delight because of the access to the Appalachian trail that it offers along with open fields.
