NEW HAVEN CONNECTICUT
The second largest city in the state of Connecticut, New Haven is located on the River Naugatuck. It is a part of New Haven County and is considered to be the educational and manufacturing hub of Connecticut.
In Greater New Haven, this city is the principal municipality. It is also included in the metropolitan area of New York. The history of the place goes back to the year 1638 when it was founded by the English.

Before the arrival of the English and other Europeans, New Haven, Connecticut was home to the Quinnipiac, a tribe of Native Americans. They were involved in fishery and farming. The English Puritans came to this area to turn it into a theological community and to exploit the harbor facilities. The city was incorporated into the state of Connecticut in 1784.
The English implemented the ‘Nine Square Plan’ which was basically a four-by-four grid. At the center of the grid stands the Green which at present is a National Historic Landmark. The plan is also credited to be a National Planning Landmark by the American Planning Association.

After incorporation, New Haven became an industrial center with the establishment of a gun factory and the development of cotton gin. Clock-making and brass manufacturing also kept the residents occupied. The arms industry in New Haven led to the bestowing of the title ‘The Arsenal of America’ on it. This city saw the rise of the Abolitionist movement and experienced the influx of Southern European immigrants after the American Civil War.

Most of the immigrants were of Italian and Jewish origin which is why the influence of both these cultures is still evident. From the 1960s, New Haven saw a decline economically and in terms of population. However, since the year 2000, many renewal projects have been put in place and the area around the Green has seen the development of many residential properties. The downtown is a hub for retail shopping with new and old brands catering to the demand.

The birthplace of George W. Bush, New Haven is known as the cultural capital of Connecticut. There are multiple music venues, theatres and museums located here. It is home to the prestigious Yale University which is the biggest contributor to the economy of New Haven, Connecticut because of the job opportunities it offers. Other sources of occupation include professional services like engineering, legal services, retail trading, healthcare sector and financial services.  203-994-3950

“Get a broker on your side. In most states,  real-estate agents work for the seller, not the   buyer. This means that the agent wants to get the  seller the best price possible. Using a buyer’s broker, who has your best interest in mind, may help you shave thousands off a home’s purchase price, mortgage or various other costs, and there is no fee to the consumer.” Woman’s Day suggests to find a buyer’s broker, you should call one of the many referral services across the country such as Buyer’s  Trust… ” –  “Cutting Your Expenses” by Karen J. Bannan was featured in the January 2nd. edition of Woman’s Day Magazine

General Information From the Dept. of Consumer Protection:  A Buyer’s agent represents the interests of the buyer in a real estate transaction. The Buyer’s agent’s responsibilities to the buyer are: undivided loyalty, obedience, diligence, disclosure, confidentiality, accounting, and reasonable skill and care. All duties are fiduciary — they are owed exclusively to the buyer – NOT to the seller.  Learn More
